Grant County Sheriff's
Crisis Resolution Team

The Grant County Crisis Resolution Team (CRT) is a multijurisdictional SWAT team which consists of members from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Platteville Police Dept., UW Platteville Police Dept., and the Cassville Police Dept.

They are a group of specially selected deputies and police officers who have been highly trained in the use of special weapons and tactics for the purpose of handling high risk situations.

CRT Program

The high risk situations CRT is prepared for are barricaded suspects, high risk warrant service, VIP protection, or other situations requiring training and expertise beyond the capabilities of the regular police officer. Members of the CRT train each month to sharpen their skills and abilities. Components of the CRT include an entry team, a sniper/marksman team, a hostage negotiation team, and a team Medic. The mission of the Grant County CRT is to bring a successful conclusion to high risk situations through the use of specially equipped and highly trained personnel without injury or loss of life to citizens, suspects, or police officers.
